This hymn arrangement was composed at the request of a choir director in the Hacienda Heights Stake. This is dedicated to the men of that stake.
When the brother from the Hacienda Heights Stake requested a men's arrangement of this piece, I couldn't resist the urge to make it A Capella. There's just nothing like the rich sound of a full chorus of unaccompamied men's voices. In this arrangement, the musical setting changes to match the text of each verse. The music accentuates our commitment to follow the Lord when the author decides to accept His invitation to die for him. It winds up with a majestic sound when the Lord speaks His love and approval in the final verse.
The arrangement is designated as challenging mostly because it is A Capella. A rehearsal-only part for piano is included. |
